Me and my comfy writing chair.

A description of my writing space . . . The comfy chair in the picture is where I write when I'm at home.  I have an equally comfortable chair in our beach home but in both cases, it's right smack in the middle of the action.       People find this amazing, but I have the natural ability to shut out everything around me and disappear into whatever I'm doing, whether it's writing a story, reading a book or even getting lost in a good movie.  The world could fall apart around me and if I'm in the zone, I'm completely clueless.        Just ask my kids how hard it is to get my attention when my fingers are flying on the keyboard.       I couldn't see shutting myself off from the family especially since I have a full time job outside of the writing front, so after dinner I settle in to the chair with my little Brookstone’s lap desk and my Samsung netbook and go to town.   At least I'm there in body - even if my spirit is a thousand miles away.
